Event Details
Don’t miss R.E.M. Explored with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra on April 5!
This exciting instrumental evening opens with selections from legendary band R.E.M.’s catalogue in “deconstructed and reconstructed” symphonic arrangements performed by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Band co-founder, singer-songwriter, and bassist Mike Mills rounds out the night with his Concerto for Violin, Rock Band, and Orchestra alongside Grammy-nominated violinist Robert McDuffie.
A few things to know:
- The first half of the concert will feature instrumental arrangements of famous R.E.M. melodies, including "Everybody Hurts," "It’s the End of the World as We Know It," "Man on the Moon," and more. The second half will feature Mike Mills and his own Concerto for Violin, Rock Band & Orchestra, which highlights other R.E.M. tunes like "Pour It Like You Mean It" and "On the Okeefenokee."
