Experience The Beatles anew as the SLSO joins top vocalists and musicians to perform sweeping orchestral arrangements of more than 25 of the Fab Four’s top hits. Revolution immerses audiences in legendary songs like Ticket to Ride, Penny Lane, All You Need Is Love, Get Back, Here Comes the Sun, and Hey Jude—accompanied by stunning video, animation, and hundreds of rare and unseen photos from the archives of the band’s official fan magazine, The Beatles Book Monthly.
Grammy-winner Jeff Tyzik’s new arrangements, transcribed and arranged from the original master recordings at Abbey Road, bring The Beatles’ magic to life in this celebration of the band’s enduring legacy.
A few things to know:
- Music writer and publisher Sean O’Mahony published 77 editions of The Beatles Book Monthly from August 1963 through December 1969. The magazine's photographer, Leslie Bryce, had unrivalled access to the group throughout the 1960s, traveling the world and taking thousands of photographs.
- American conductor, arranger, and trumpeter Jeff Tyzik won a Grammy Award in 1987 for producing the album The Tonight Show Band with Doc Severinsen. In 1994, Tyzik was named Principal Pops Conductor of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, a position he still holds. Since then, he has established himself as one of the country's preeminent Pops conductors and arrangers.
- Seen by more than 73 million viewers, The Beatles’ February 9, 1964, debut performance on The Ed Sullivan Show was the most watched television event of its time, launching Beatlemania and the wider “British Invasion” of American pop music.
